Ep.1/ Resilience Matters

Resilience is Key to having confidence , stamina, and style in everything we do.

What are some things you currently do to build resilience?

As we begin a new school year, it’s important that we take time to reflect on what we’ve accomplished so far. Many times, we have the tendency to diminish, or even dismiss, what we have been able to conquer in past years. But, one thing is for sure: We have overcome many obstacles, setbacks, and issues through our faith in our vision and our patience with the process.

These times help us to build resilience, or the ability to “bounce back”, from life’s struggles. At EMEE, we believe in having a growth mindset and becoming a lifelong learner. The world around us is full of opportunities to grow, learn, and become wiser with each day and every choice we make.

This school year, what are some things you can do to maintain your ability to “bounce back” when problems arise?

Ep.1/

Resilience matters

Here are some helpful tools to build resiliency as a part of your identity and character:

  • Take time to rest, sleep, eat, and enjoy friends to keep your mind healthy and your body whole

  • Approach each new and challenging situation with confidence

  • Ask for help when needed

  • Keep an open mind towards learning and feedback

  • Be patient with yourself and enjoy the process

  • Don’t give up

  • Have FUN! You’re GROWING!

Remember, you’ve got this! Every challenge leads to an opportunity for you to demonstrate your skills, your strength, and your personal style to the world. Don’t dim your light for others. Let your light shine!

As we come to a close, take the time to identify the barriers, or things that personally block you from being the best version of yourself at school and elsewhere. How will resiliency improve your academic and social outcomes in these spaces? If you dared to give it “your all”, what would you have to lose?
